FC Talanta offensive midfielder Alex Juma famously known as Keke Sunga intends to build on his man of the match performance over the weekend and achieve his set targets in the ongoing 2023-2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.

Juma had a dream outing with the Ken Kenyatta coached side as they thrashed league leaders Posta Rangers 3-1 to hand them first defeat of the term in a league match staged at Ruaraka Grounds, Nairobi.

Juma, who has two goals and similar number of assists against his name this season was listed in the league’s best eleven for round seven that ran last weekend following his heroics on Saturday where he was at the center of a comical errors from Posta that resulted to goals for the Communication Authority powered side.

The forward joined Talanta four months ago from Bidco United and got off the books faster, forming a core part of the Kenyatta squad.

The former Kenya Premier League under-20 champion with Ulinzi Stars told Mozzart Sport that the confidence and trust emancipated in him will be crucial in reaching his targets in a season the play maker is targeting more than eight goals and ten assists and set his own personal best record in the top flight.

Saturday was one of those best days in my career, helping my team secure a win after three matches and doing it against the league leaders was just fantastic, and coupling it up with man of the match performance later on making to the team of the week was a real boost to my ambitions. I am looking to build from that and try have the best term of my career,” stated the former Ushuru FC man.

The 2016 Copa Coca-Cola National ball games golden boot winner, who is characterized by his sane speed and techniques on one on one situation, further urged his team mates to maintain the focus and push the side to respectable finish this term.

"I urge the rest of us to keep on training hard and focus on having a good season together. It is possible to finish in the top half,” he offered.

The 24-year-old after all is still optimistic of turning pro and believes improved performances in the current campaign may hand him a dream move to explore other leagues out of the country.

Age is catching up but I am not relenting soon, I have a target of turning pro before I hang my boots and with good figures at Talanta I can be assured of a move to other league. Last season I narrowly missed out on a scholarship deal to the USA and I won’t take chances this time,” he concluded.

Before linking up with Talanta, Juma played for Bidco United, Ushuru and the now defunct Isebania and won the KPL U20 with Ulinzi Stars.
