The 16-year-old forward has remained defiant amid a difficult campaign for Sharks, who currently sit fourth from bottom on the table, and just a single point above the automatic relegation zone.

It has been a turbulent season for the William Muluya-led side, with inconsistency and prolonged spells in the danger zone, leaving them constantly flirting with the possibility of dropping out of the top flight.

Sharks, who have been part of the top-tier since their promotion in 2017, now face an intense final stretch that will define their survival.

With only three matches remaining, the margin for error has effectively disappeared.

Their remaining fixtures pit them against Kakamega Homeboyz, Kenya Police FC, and already-relegated Sofapaka, in what amounts to a high-stakes run-in where every point will be crucial.

The situation is stark as survival may require maximum points, depending on how results elsewhere unfold.

Two wins could be enough to secure safety, but anything less would leave the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup winners dangerously exposed to the drop.

Despite the pressure, Omondi remains upbeat. The teenager, who is also the younger brother of Sweden-based forward Andreas Omondi of Enköpings SK, has gradually integrated into the senior setup after being promoted from the club’s youth ranks.

With a goal to his name having made his debut against KCB, Omondi has been steadily growing into his role within the squad.

Speaking with quiet confidence, the attacker insisted Sharks still have what it takes to survive the cut.

“The team won’t fall down. The focus now is to stay disciplined and put in the work,” Omondi said. “For me, I want to contribute in the final third—bring one-v-one quality, unlock defences, and in these remaining matches, I’m aiming to get assists and score if possible.”

His words reflect a sense of belief within a squad that, despite its struggles, still controls its own fate going into the final fixtures.

With everything on the line, the final three matches will determine whether Sharks extend their stay in the top division or suffer the heartbreak of relegation after nearly a decade at the summit of Kenyan football.
