The reshuffle also comes in the wake of two major transfer moves with Shumah and Eshihanda having left to Zambia and Tanzania respectively
Kakamega Homeboyz has confirmed the departure of seven players as part of a major restructuring exercise to strengthen the squad for a push at the league title in the coming season.
The clear-out follows the expiry of contracts for some players, while others parted ways with the club through mutual consent.

Among the most notable exits is midfielder Francis Omondi, whose departure ends his second stint with the club. Omondi first joined Homeboyz in 2020 from Mathare United, spending two seasons before moving to Ulinzi Stars.
He returned in August 2023 and was an influential figure under coach Francis Baraza, contributing to the team’s impressive third-place finish last season.
Also exiting is Ugandan forward Pius Wangi, who leaves after his one-year contract ran out. Signed from Mbarara City FC at the start of last season, Wangi scored twice and provided two assists, playing a key role in Homeboyz’s podium finish.
Long-serving attacker Brian Bulleti departs after four memorable years, during which he was part of the club’s historic 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup triumph. Levis Barasa also bows out after three seasons, having been a consistent squad member during his time at the club.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Isaiah Wakasala and midfielder Ambrose Sifuna have both left by mutual consent. Wakasala joined from FC Talanta, while Sifuna arrived in 2023 from Sofapaka and was instrumental in securing the Mozzart Bet Cup, Homeboyz’s maiden silverware.
The reshuffle also comes in the wake of two major transfer moves: reigning FKF Premier League top scorer Moses Shumah sealed a move to Zambia’s Power Dynamos, while versatile defender Brian Eshihanda joined Tanzanian side Pamba Jiji FC, where he reunites with coach Baraza and goalkeeper trainer John Waw.
Despite the departures, the club has set its sights on high-profile reinforcements.
Homeboyz have been linked with Kibera Black Stars defender Eugene Ochieng, Gor Mahia duo Rogers Ouma and Geidon Bendeka, KCB midfielder Joshua Nyatini, and 2022 Golden Boot winner Derrick Otanga.
