Shabana were hoping to return to winning ways after playing Tusker to a 1-1 draw in their previous game
Kakamega Homeboyz returned to winning ways in style after defeating Bidco United 3-1 in a closely contested FKF Premier League encounter at Bukhungu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Goals from Henry Omollo, a Kevin Ouma own goal, and Oliver Majaka’s late strike sealed a remarkable comeback for the hosts, as Bidco had taken an early lead through Dennis Murunga.

The result handed Bidco their first defeat of the campaign, while coach Patrick Odhiambo’s side celebrated their second win of the season.
With both sides entering the clash with contrasting ambitions, Homeboyz keen to rebound and Bidco chasing a third straight win, the contest kicked off at a high tempo.
The hosts were first to threaten when Omollo pounced on a loose ball in Bidco’s backline, but his mistimed connection allowed goalkeeper Issa Emuria to gather.
Moments later, Samuel Odaro burst down the flank, beating Kevin Ouma for pace, only for Emuria to again intervene decisively.
Bidco responded through John Kelwish, whose low effort from a Thomas Wainaina delivery was blocked by Potiphar Odhiambo.
Midway through the first half, Josphat Lopaga came close for Homeboyz, chesting down Omollo’s lofted pass before firing narrowly over the bar.
Five minutes later, Kelwish nearly broke the deadlock for Bidco, only for his attempted volley to miss the target by inches.
As both sides pushed forward, Glen Masava’s well-timed effort for Homeboyz rolled just wide, before Bidco found the opener on the half-hour mark.
Murunga put the visitors ahead with a clever backheel finish past goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe after a neat pass from Idriss.
However, Homeboyz responded almost immediately.
Three minutes later, Omollo , formerly of Bidco United , punished his old side with a thunderous strike past Emuria to level the scores.
The hosts finished the first half strongly, coming close through Lopaga and Hillary Otieno, before Masava rattled the crossbar with a low effort five minutes to the break in what proved to be the final chance of an entertaining opening half.
After the restart, Homeboyz took control of proceedings, pressing high and dictating the tempo.
Ten minutes into the second half, Omollo came close again, weaving through the defence only to be denied by Emuria’s reflex save.
Bidco threatened through substitute Clinton Asiago, who raced into the box but failed to direct Herman Ngala's teasing cross on target.
In the 64th minute, the turning point arrived when a testing delivery from Homeboyz right-back John Omondi caused panic in Bidco’s defence, forcing Ouma to turn the ball into his own net ,giving the hosts a deserved lead.
Homeboyz continued to dominate, with substitute Majaka making an immediate impact.
In the 78th minute, his low strike was parried by Emuria, with Nyatini’s follow-up effort blocked on the line.
Bidco pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Homeboyz sealed the victory at the death through Majaka’s sublime curling shot after beautifully being set up by Derrick Otanga’s dummy to complete a stunning 3-1 comeback.
The win restored belief within the Kakamega camp after lose to Nairobi United last weekend.
Elsewhere At Gusii Stadium, Posta Rangers extended their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over hosts Shabana FC.
Brian Marita opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime before Teddy Trevor doubled the lead ten minutes from time.
Despite Victor Omondi’s late consolation for Shabana, Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo’s men held firm to move to the summit of the standings with ten points from four matches.
