FC Talanta winger Michael Jairo is delighted to have recovered from a groin injury that kept him out of action for close to two months.
Talanta have been without the services of Jairo since October 1 after the winger picked up a groin injury in their barren draw against Tusker at the Ruaraka Stadium.
The injury saw him miss six matches but marked his return last weekend in their one-all draw away to Bandari, where he came off the bench in the second half, replacing Alex Juma.
He missed the club's matches against Mozzart Bet Cup champions Kakamega Homeboyz, log leaders Posta Rangers, Nzoia Sugar, Kenya Police, Sofapaka, and Muhoroni Youth.
With Talanta enjoying a purple patch so far in the season, Jairo is glad to be back on the team and to contribute to the good run.
"I am happy to return to action after more than a month out. It has been a challenging time for me out on the sidelines, but I am glad I overcame it," he said.
On the weekend, Jairo passed fitness tests. His younger brother Bernard, who is attached to the Kariobangi Sharks, was unfortunate to suffer a hairline nondisplaced fracture of the anterior nasal spine and will be out for six weeks.
Bernard was stretchered off in the eighth minute of their 3-1 defeat to the Nairobi City Stars last weekend at the Kasarani Annex.
Meanwhile, Jairo has claimed that Talanta's recent good run has been triggered by the good chemistry between the players and the technical bench.
Talanta are unbeaten in the last eight matches and have lost once, as have Posta Rangers. Gor are the only unbeaten side so far.
