Ibrahim Joshua scored 11 goals in the league for the Brewers last season
Reigning league champions Tusker FC are set to do without the services of their talisman Ibrahim Joshua for ‘some time’ according to head coach Robert Matano.
The Tanzanian import was unfortunate to suffer an injury in the opening game of the season where they beat Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1.
Matano revealed that Ibrahim is set to stay out for a while after suffering the injury but has since resumed light training in a bid to return to full fitness.
“Ibrahim suffered an injury in our opening game against Homeboyz and will stay out for a while but we hope to see him return soon though he has started light training with the team,” said Matano.
The former AFC Leopards head coach however failed to reveal a timeframe for Ibrahim’s expected return but he is likely to miss the clash against AFC Leopards on Sunday.
The former Geita Gold forward has had a start to forget this season as he only lasted 10 minutes of the Homeboyz game following a tough tackle from Robinson Kamura.
The Brewers are yet to miss the forward with his understudy Deogracious Ojok notching a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Nairobi City Stars last weekend.
Ibrahim has been an integral player for Tusker as he finished as the club’s top scorer with 11 goals in his debut season and earned a number of call-ups to the Tanzanian National Team.
