Murang’a Seal left-back Joseph Omulama is still enjoying the sweet smell of success.
Omulama stood out during the Mozzart Bet Cup third-place playoff held on Sunday, 29 June, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, where Murang’a Seal edged out Mara Sugar 1-0.

While he did not appear on the scoresheet, it was his pinpoint cross that teed up Victor Haki for the match’s lone and winning goal.
The former Marafiki FC player’s standout performance earned him the Player of the Match accolade, along with the prestigious Ksh100,000 Mozzart Bet Cup Humanitarian Cheque.
That reward is not for personal gain, but to uplift others.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the match, Omulama promised to use this reward to uplift the team that gave him a foundation.
“I will donate this award to Amazulu FC in Londiani, where I grew up, and played football for the first time. They nurtured my talent. It will be a way of giving back to them," he reveled.
The Mozzart Bet Humanitarian Cheque initiative is designed for just that.
Unlike regular match awards, the humanitarian cheque is meant to support community causes.
Since its inception, the initiative has honored standout players from the quarterfinal stage with Kshs100,000 cheques, not for personal use, but for investment in community development.
The recipients are empowered to give back to the institutions and communities that shaped their journeys, whether former clubs, academies, schools, villages, or children’s homes.
Reflecting on the season so far, Omulama could not be more grateful for what the team achieved.
From battling FKF Premier League relegation to clinching bronze in the Mozzart Bet Cup, Murang’a Seal had quite a season.
“The season has been tough because if you look at the league, we have been fighting relegation for the better part. But we managed to remain in the league and clinch bronze in the Mozzart Bet Cup. Those challenges and managing this is God, and the belief of the players,” he offered.
He went on to thank his fellow players and the team’s management for what they have achieved so far, noting that they will come back stronger next season.
“I thank my fellow players because they gave their all. We all told ourselves that we had to make history,” he added.
