The Slum Boys hosted the Kenyan giants in an FKF Premier League match on Thursday, 30 October where Gor Mahia won 2-0.

Despite the final whistle being blown, action spilled over ,this time, involving the two coaches in the course of performing their post-match media duties.

After Kamau faced the press, Akonnor approached for a handshake, in the spirit of the game, only for Kamau to give him a wide berth.

The snub irked Kobi, triggering bitter exchange of words between the two, with the former Black Stars coach joining thereafter.

It took the intervention of stewards and staff from the two clubs to extinguish the fire.

With the war of words happening just in front of the media, who were interviewing Gor Mahia star Enock Morisson, the press pressed the two on the ordeal.

“He (Kamau) wanted to greet me before the game but I was not around and I do not remember him saying good luck or such.

After the match, he finished his interview and I wanted to say Hello but he did not want to. He was not in a happy mood, having lost and I can understand him.But to use certain words is not acceptable in our sport,” said Akonnor

On his part, Kamau accused the former Ghanaian international and his staff of snubbing him before the match, noting that he was just serving them a dose of their medicine.

“It is very simple, it is the heat of the game. If you do not greet me before the game, why do you want to it after the final whistle?

I mean, you have your reasons and I also have mine. I think his deputy made it a big thing. We are professionals but if you do not greet me, I do not also greet you. It is as simple as that,” stated Kamau.
