According to reports from Hayters TV, the 21-year-old winger has been identified as a potential replacement for Eberechi Eze, who sealed a high-profile return to Arsenal over the weekend.

Otieno, currently on Leicester City's books, has been the subject of growing speculation following limited game time at the King Power Stadium, where he has featured only once this season.

A number of Championship and League One clubs are also monitoring his situation, with Queens Park Rangers (QPR) understood to be among the most probable suitors.

The explosive forward spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, making 31 appearances before a knee injury curtailed his campaign.

Despite returning to Leicester for the 2025/26 season after the Foxes’ relegation from the English Premier League, his future remains uncertain.

“Thomas is yet to play for the Foxes this season, who are considering whether to let the former Chelsea youngster leave.

He could follow fellow attacker Bilal El Khannouss out of the club, with Crystal Palace in talks to sign the 21-year-old as a replacement for Ebere Eze should he finalise his move to Tottenham,” read part of a statement carried by Hayters TV on Saturday, 20 August, before Eze joined Arsenal.

Born to Kenyan and Jamaican heritage, Otieno honed his skills at the prestigious Chelsea Academy, where he steadily rose through the ranks at Cobham.

He consistently featured for the Blues’ U18 and U20 teams in domestic youth competitions, the UEFA Youth League, the FA Youth Cup, and Premier League 2.

After departing Chelsea, Thomas underwent trials at Sheffield United and Leicester City, with the Foxes eventually securing his signature for the 2024/25 season.

His debut for Leicester came earlier this month in their Championship clash against Charlton Athletic, though as a second-half substitute.

On the international stage, Otieno has already represented England at U15, U17, and U18 levels, further underlining his pedigree and potential.

With Crystal Palace intensifying their search for attacking reinforcements, the next few days could prove decisive for the future of one of Kenya’s most promising footballers abroad.
