The 20-year-old, who admitted to being nervous early in the season, said he was satisfied with how he handled the pressure and the steps he has been taking since his top-flight bow.
Nzoia Sugar creative midfielder Victor Haki has termed his first eleven matches at the club and in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League a success.
Haki joined the Bungoma-based club in the off-season transfer window from Nyota FC and has scored two goals in the eleven matches he has played for the Sugarmen.
The challenge of testing himself in the top league for the first time, and the goals and two wins Nzoia has recorded so far, are a source of happiness for Haki.
The 20-year-old, who admitted to being nervous early in the season, said he was satisfied with how he handled the pressure and the steps he has been taking since his top-flight bow.
"Honestly, I was nervous in the first two to three rounds of the season. However, I recovered, and currently, I am enjoying the game. So far, so good, although there is room for improvement," said Haki.
With the league set to resume this weekend after a break that is meant to pave the way for international matches, Haki hopes that fortunes will follow Nzoia.
The Godfrey Oduor-coached side is languishing in the red zone and will be seeking to beat Kenya Police and move high on the standings.
"We have been working hard during the break so as to win matches and get to the top half of the log," he stated.
In the meantime, Haki expressed optimism about getting called up to the national U23 team if the team is lined up for assignments in the future.
"It has been my dream since breaking into the FKFPL. I hope that the team will be active next year. It gives a platform that prepares players to be ready for the senior team," added Haki.
