Hoffenheim decided to sell their best striker to Borussia
He had been linked with FC Barcelona, and until a few days ago RB Leipzig appeared to be leading the race. However, according to the latest reports from Germany, Borussia Dortmund have emerged as the winners in the race to sign Fisnik Asllani. The two clubs have reportedly reached an agreement in principle over a transfer fee of around 35 million euros, with the 23-year-old striker expected to sign a contract until 2031 in the coming days. Asllani has attracted widespread attention across Europe following a breakout season with TSG Hoffenheim, where he made 35 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. Standing 1.91 metres tall, he combines physical strength with impressive mobility and technical ability, making him capable of playing not only as a centre-forward but also in wider attacking roles.
His arrival at Dortmund would strongly suggest that Serhou Guirassy is on the verge of leaving the Westfalenstadion. The Kosovo international joined Hoffenheim from 1. FC Union Berlin in 2020 as a 17-year-old on a free transfer, meaning the reported 35 million euros fee would represent almost pure profit for the club owned by Dietmar Hopp. As for Borussia Dortmund, Asllani would become their fourth signing since the transfer window opened in June. The club have already invested just over 30 million pounds to bring in Joane Gadou from FC Red Bull Salzburg, Kauan Prates from Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, and Justin Lerma from Independiente del Valle.
