Goodbye, Chelsea! Senegalese set to join Bayern

Nicolas Jackson agreed on personal terms with the German giant, while his agent confirmed his imminent departure from Stamford Bridge

Already at the beginning of the June Transfer Window, it was clear that Nicolas Jackson would hardly stay at Chelsea. However, his red card in a clash against Flamengo at the FIFA Club World Cup after just five minutes on the pitch seemed to have been the last straw.

Since then, the Senegalese clocked just 31 minutes in the semi-finals against Fluminense, and that was the only game he was involved in. Enzo Maresca has counted on the newcomers Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and Jackson's only possible move has been to leave the London side.

At one point, he was seriously linked to Man United, but now it's clear - Jackson will change not only the club but also the league.

According to BILD, the striker has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, and now it's only left for the Bavarians to settle on the compensation or a possible loan with Chelsea. Truth be told, the 24-year-old wasn't the Bundesliga side's primary target, as they wanted Stuttgart's Nick Woltemade, but the Swabians were firm in their decision not to sell their net-buster.

Chelsea reportedly demand around £80 million, though they could be willing to cut the price, as the transfer window is nearing its end.

Additionally, Jackson's agent, Diomansy Kamara, practically confirmed the player's move, speaking to Foot Mercato.

"30 goals in two seasons, without a single penalty. Highs, lows… but a page is turning at the Blues. Always grateful for yesterday, but already looking toward tomorrow, with optimism. Germany, Italy, England: the options are numerous, the decision is imminent. Thank you for the support, we see your messages… Nicolas Jackson, transfer expected within 48 hours," he said.

Even though Harry Kane is untouchable on Vincent Kompany's team, Jackson should be an alternative option, which should lighten the Englishman's load at least a little bit.

The Senegalese joined Chelsea from Villarreal for €37 million two years ago. He made 81 appearances for the Blues and scored 30 goals. With the Stamford Bridge club, Jackson won two trophies, the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup, both in the last three months.
