The defender is yet to make his Swedish top-tier debut

Kenyan defender Frank Odhiambo featured full minutes as Djurgardens U21 side hammered their Degerfors counterparts 7-1 in the Allsvenskan U21 league on Tuesday afternoon.

Odhiambo was among the players who are not yet regulars in the senior side who were picked in the contest involving the junior side, and they went on to run riot over the Degerfors side.

Zambian midfielder Emmanuel Banda opened the scoring for Djurgardens U21 after just 15 minutes before Ludvig Steen leveled matters for Degerfors U21 10 minutes later.

10 minutes after the leveler, Kalle Holmberg restored Djurgardens' lead and would go on to score three more in the second half to end with four as Gustav Wikheim and Leo Cornic scored the other goals for the hosts.

Since moving to Sweden earlier this year, the former Gor Mahia defender is yet to make his debut for the senior side in the league despite having featured in preseason training.

His start to life at Djurgardens has not been a bed of roses, as he got injured in training barely weeks after linking up with the team, an injury that kept him out of action for two weeks in March.

The 19-year-old will be hoping that game time with the junior side will come in handy in fastening his way into the main team, where he looking forward to making his debut.
