While several sides moved decisively in the transfer market, AFC Leopards emerged as the least active club, registering only two new additions as they aim to end a 28-year trophy drought.

The 12-time league champions opted for a cautious approach, blending experience with emerging talent.

Andrew Waswa from Sofapaka and Dennis Kikwae from Tena United were the new faces, while Peter Maker Mayang and Dang Kang departed the club.

In contrast, league leaders Gor Mahia were highly active, bringing in five new players in a bid to solidify their position at the summit and chase a domestic cup double after a rare trophyless season last year.

K’Ogalo’s high-profile acquisitions include Harambee Stars defender Frank Odhiambo from Sweden’s Djurgårdens IF, Ghanaian attacker Ebenezer Assifuah, playmaker Jackson Dwang from Posta Rangers, and two promising youngsters, David Odhiambo promoted from the youth team, and Isaac Deng from Green Commandos.

Shabana FC, ambitious in their pursuit of a maiden league title, added five players, including Senegalese Ligue 1 2024/25 top scorer Pape Diallo on loan from Azam, Congolese forward Mambote Batshi Assis from AS Saint Christian, John Owira from Bidco United, Mohamed Abdallah, and 2026 82 Sports Ultimate Cup MVP Jasper Omwando.

However, three players, David Odoyo, Mosea Shikanda, and Douglas Mokaya, left the Kisii-based side.

Defending league champions Kenya Police FC were particularly aggressive, adding 10 new players in a bid to defend their league crown.

The additions included a strong foreign contingent: Yves Kuotima (Burkina Faso), Hernest Malonga (Singida Black Stars), Jacques George, Kusi Nana, Awesu Ali, and Samuel Baomah.

Locally, the club welcomed back Kevin Ouma from loan, while also acquiring Chris Opondo (Nairobi United), Enock Masinza (Kakamega Homeboyz), and Livingstone Chacha (Nairobi City Stars).

The busiest clubs in the window were Mara Sugar and the 2009 champions, Sofapaka, each bringing in 15 new players, closely followed by Ulinzi Stars, who added 13, all seeking to strengthen their squads amid relegation battles.

Relegation-threatened debutants APS Bomet also made headlines, signing 10 players, including the surprise statement signing of 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup winner Hillary Otieno from Kakamega Homeboyz and two-time league champion Sydney Wahongo (Gor Mahia), under coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo, in a bid to survive their maiden top-flight season.

Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz, targeting their maiden league championship, brought in eight reinforcements.

Notable signings include Shafik Batambuze, returning for a second stint from Fountain Gate, Ghanaian forward Erick Okutu (Pamba Jiji), Harambee Stars forward Pistone Mutamba, and a talented youth contingent including Rodgers Musonye, Zinedine Wesonga, Meshack Mugalla, William Witambo, and Boniface Nyabuto.
