Liverpool made a deal they could only dream of as Al Ittihad paid 46,000,000 euros for the Brazilian midfielder

Another important part of Liverpool from previous years has left Anfield. After Jordan Henderson, Fabinho also arrived in Saudi Arabia.

The Brazilian midfielder has signed a three-year contract with local champions Al-Ittihad, who will pay Liverpool 46,000,000 euros for the services of the 29-year-old member of the Seleção. Great work by the Reds, very likely impossible if the Saudis did not arrive in Europe with bags of money this summer, since last season Fabinho was not even a pale shadow of the player from the first four years at Anfield. In this way, the English club will still make money from his sale, since in 2018 they paid Monaco one million euros less for him.

A lot has been written about Fabinho in the past few days. Negotiations stalled at one point, with English tabloids claiming the reason lies in the Brazilian's strong attachment to his French bulldogs, a breed of dog banned in Saudi Arabia. Among others, Al-Ittihad used this inscription in a promo video in which Fabinho is walking a tiger on a leash, and which ends with the sentence: "Fabinho is a tiger!".

Fabinho played 219 games for Liverpool, scored 11 and set up 10 goals and won seven trophies with the Reds. He previously played for Monaco, Real Madrid and Fluminense, from which he arrived in Europe. First in Rio Ave, although he did not make any appearances for the Portuguese club since he moved to Santiago Bernabeu that same summer.

"Today I'm leaving my home. I've been wearing this shirt for five years and always with the greatest possible pride and happiness. From the first day in Liverpool, everyone embraced me. What I saw in this club, the relationship between people, made me feel like part of the family. In these five years I have grown as a player, as a man, achieved my dreams. With that shirt I have won every title a player can dream of. Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, I have reached the highest level and played at he World Cup. Thanks to Liverpool I fulfilled my dream of entering the stadium with my son in my arms. Thanks to Liverpool I played in the best stadium in the world, I lived the biggest match of my life, the comeback against Barcelona, which was only possible thanks to Anfield. That moment will forever remain in my memory. I say this with a heart filled with joy: I love this club. Thank you, Reds, for everything we have experienced together. You will never walk alone," Fabinho wrote in his farewell message.

Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Jota, who also arrived at the club this summer, are already waiting for the Brazilian at Al-Ittihad.
