Every streak comes to an end - is it time for Unai Emery's tonight at Emirates?

Aston Villa are simply unstoppable, but can they do it on a cold December night against the Gunners...
Never before has Unai Emery been spoken about with such euphoria as at the end of 2025. His Aston Villa have strung together 11 consecutive wins in all competitions for the first time since 1914.
Tonight, they march into north London (11.15 pm) to show Arsenal - and the entire Premier League - that the title race has a new, formidable contender.
Emery, once trusted to lead Arsenal post-Wenger, now embodies their nightmare. Two seasons ago, he stole their title dreams; a month ago, Emi Buendia ended their 18-game unbeaten run. Hence the infuriating "Good ebening" greeting - a sly statement of conquest.
Arsenal still lead, but injuries bite. Villa arrive without Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara, yet remain relentless. Financially constrained, Emery has crafted one of the league's toughest teams to face, turning players like Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins into stars. Watkins himself praised Emery's tactical brilliance after dismantling Chelsea:
"He moved Sancho and Rogers wide, pushed Tielemans into the No.10 - suddenly we had an extra man in the final third."
Villa have warriors, workers, and craftsmen - a side that suffers but never collapses. They've taken 18 points from losing positions this season. Stamford Bridge was proof: what looked like a 2-0 defeat became a stunning comeback.
A win tonight would see Villa enter 2026 level at the top with Arsenal. Emery set the tone:
"We must be humble, but also ambitious. Show arrogance too, say: I am here. We are here."
Seventeen victories in their last nineteen games prove Aston Villa is no longer a team to underestimate. From Arsenal's point of view, there is no more hated figure than Emery, no darker shadow than Villa, and no harsher punishment than another viral "Good ebening."
