The Real Madrid loanee at the Ligue 1 side hinted at better days after a subpar spell with Los Blancos, netting the decisive goal against Lille in the French Cup
Ten days ago, when Endrick joined Olympique Lyon on loan from Real Madrid, many saw the Brazilian as a valuable asset for the Ligue 1 side. At the same time, it was a new chance for him to revive his career after a poor recent stint at Santiago Bernabeu, where he barely clocked 99 minutes under Xabi Alonso.
However, hardly anyone expected Endrick's immediate impact in France. The narrative about adaptation and adjustment to the new country, league, style of football, manager, and teammates didn't hold up, as the 19-year-old striker needed just 72 minutes to show what he knew.
That, and the faith of the coach Paulo Fonseca, who made him a starter.

In one of the rare derbies of the Coupe de France Round of 32 and a duel of two Ligue 1 sides, Lyon brushed Lille aside on the road 2-1, as Endrick netted the 42nd-minute winner. Even before the goal, he hit the post and was an unsolvable enigma for the rivals' defence.
Previously, Alfonso Moreira had put Lyon in front in the opening minute of the match, while Nathan Ngoy levelled 27 minutes later.

Therefore, Endrick's start was terrific, and now he has to keep up and prove to Madrid, and especially Alonso, how wrong they were.
Tonight, in another Ligue 1 derby in the Cup and the penultimate Round of 32 match, Paris Saint-Germain will host Paris FC (23.10) just eight days after their league clash, which the Saints won 2-1.
Olympique Marseille and the fifth-tier side Bayeux will round off the stage tomorrow night (23.00).
