Kenya will host the North African nation in their third CHAN clash on Sunday, 10 August at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Harambee Stars head into the match on the back of a remarkable 1-1 draw against Angola despite playing over 75 minutes with a man less on Thursday, 7 August, while Morocco had a week off following a 2-0 victory over Angola in their opening clash on Sunday, 3 August.
Speaking to the press ahead of the Sunday showdown, McCarthy singled out two players who will play a crucial role in the match
“Chris (Erambo) and Michael (Kibwage) came into the game and brought a different aspect.
The physicality, the agility and the energy, against Morocco we will need that. They might not start, but they will play a very big role for us,” said McCarthy.
The 47-year-old South African tactician also went ahead to disclose the type of game he expects from the joint-record CHAN champions and how Kenya must adapt.
“We will have to be disciplined and organised on and off the ball. Morocco is a team that likes to invite you to attack, then hit you on the counterattack,” he added.
The former Amazulu FC head coach also admitted the team will miss the suspended Marvin Nabwire, who was red-carded against Angola, highlighting his strengths.
"Marvin came in strong, brought the physicality we didn't have in the first match. To lose him brings a big gap, especially when you face a team like Morocco. I know other players have the chance to step up,” he remarked.
The former Manchester United forwards' coach also revealed that striker Masoud Juma, who was unavailable against Angola through injury, will be in the squad even though the Migori Youth man was seen training alone on Saturday, 9 August.
The Sunday clash will kick off at 1500 hrs.
