The CAF disciplinary commission declared the documents that arrived from Congo incomplete, unlike the ones presented by FA Gabon, which provided evidence from the players' birth certificate. Therefore, there was not enough material to initiate criminal proceedings against the player.
"After examining all the elements, the Disciplinary Commission considers that the allegations of FECOFA (Congolese Football Association), as well as the elements presented, were not considered convincing and sufficient to establish identity falsification. In addition, the Disciplinary Commission could not notice any irregularity in regarding his registration with the CAF ", reads the statement of the African Football Confederation.
FS Congo has the right to appeal, but it seems that the outcome of this case is quite clear, so it is certain that we will watch Gabon and Guelor Kanga at the Nations Cup in Cameroon.
A week ago, the Congolese published papers stating that Kanga was allegedly born in 1985, and not in 1990, as stated in the official books, so they demanded severe sanctions for Gabon and that this selection be expelled from the African Cup of Nations.
According to the then allegations from Congo, Gabon violated FIFA rules by using a player with fake papers in the qualifications for the Cup of Nations. In addition to the disputed year, in the documents that flooded the social networks, in addition to the disputed year, it was stated that the player's name is not uGelor Kanga, but Kijaku-Kijaku Kijanga. However, all this evidence was not convincing enough for the leaders of African football, so Kanga and Gabon were officially acquitted.
