Barca has found Lewa's successor - pure fantasy that could turn into reality

Who cares that he'll be 34 by the time Camp Nou gates open for the Blaugrana's big signing. Lewandowski was the same age when he joined them back in the day

It's still early, but the idea alone is enough to set pulses racing in Catalonia and entire Spain.

According to The Guardian, Harry Kane has emerged as Barcelona's top target to replace Robert Lewandowski next July.

Lewandowski's contract runs until June 2026, but Barca are reportedly ready to trigger Kane's release clause - available after the end of the season for €65 million - to bring one of the world's deadliest strikers to Camp Nou.

Three years ago, many questioned Barca's decision to spend €45 million on a 34-year-old Lewandowski. Now, the same club seems prepared to go even higher for a 33-year-old Englishman when the time comes.

But this isn't just any 33-year-old. Kane is, alongside Erling Haaland, the most ruthless goalscorer on the planet - a genuine Golden Boot and Ballon d'Or contender. Since the start of the 2025/26 season, England's captain has 23 goals and 3 assists in 17 matches for Bayern Munich, where he insists he's happy and intends to stay until his deal expires in 2027.

Still, when Barcelona call, the world listens. And there's always that whisper of unfinished business in England. Kane remains 48 goals short of Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League record of 260.

Since arriving at Allianz Arena, the numbers are staggering: 108 goals and 29 assists in just 113 appearances. Many doubted the wisdom of paying €100 million for a striker entering his thirties. Yet Kane has silenced every critic, turning Bayern into one of the frontrunners for the Champions League crown.

Now, as Barcelona watch from afar, the idea of pairing Kane with the next generation of Blaugrana stars feels like pure fantasy, but one they just might be willing to chase.
