Murang’a Seal winger Erick Balecho believes that the team will overcome the rough patch and get back to winning ways.
The league debutants have gone for ten matches without a win, putting them at risk of dropping to the red zone and losing their top-flight status if the bad run persists.
Seal were promoted to the top tier last season and had a dream start at the highest level, winning a handful of matches earlier in the campaign that dragged their name into the pacesetter category of the title race.
However, the club struggled to maintain the positive start, forcing the management to make changes to the technical bench twice.
First, the experienced Gabriel Kingi was let go in December, with his assistant Dennis Okoth taking over.
Okoth would be replaced by Abdallah Juma last month in what was seen as an effort by the management to save the fast-sinking vessel.
Despite the prolonged winless run, Balecho is confident that the training drills under Juma will see the team regain its best shape and form.
“We have been pushing ourselves in training, and I am sure it will pay off,” said the winger, who secured his first Harambee Stars call-up last year.
The left-footed player further expressed optimism in the quality of signings the club had made in the mid-season transfer window, turning their fortunes around.
Seal signed four players and parted with a similar number.
The new faces include veteran midfielder Dennis Odhiambo, experienced winger Joe Waithira, midfielder Michael Owen, and forward Yasin Sije, who joined the club on loan from the AFC Leopards.
“They will add positives to the team,” he stated.
Victor Odhiambo, Gedion Were, Brian Juma, and Erick Juma all left the club in the window.
