The new AC Milan manager has no plans for Leao, with several Premier League clubs already emerging as potential destinations
Tottenham have reportedly emerged as a potential destination for Rafael Leao, with AC Milan willing to let the Portuguese forward leave after he fell out of favour under new head coach Ruben Amorim. The Rossoneri are actively seeking a buyer this summer as they look to balance the books following an underwhelming campaign.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan have already informed Tottenham that Leao is available. After finishing fifth in Serie A last season, the Italian giants are prepared to cash in on one of their biggest stars, especially as Amorim has reportedly decided the winger does not fit into his long-term plans.

Leao's 2025-26 season was a disappointing one by his standards. Although he scored 10 league goals in 31 appearances, his performances often drew criticism from Milan supporters. Despite that difficult campaign, his overall record remains impressive, with 80 goals in 291 matches for the club.
Milan are believed to value the 26-year-old at around €60 million, although they could also agree to a loan deal that includes a mandatory €70 million purchase clause.
The Portugal international has made little secret of his desire to test himself elsewhere. In an earlier interview with Sport TV, he suggested that English or Spanish football would be a better fit for his qualities.
"I felt I could make a difference, but the way the team played didn't put me in a position to do so. I need a new challenge. In Italy, the league is evolving, but for my style of football, the Premier League or La Liga would better showcase my talent and me as a player."
Leao's struggles were compounded under former manager Massimiliano Allegri, who frequently deployed him in a central attacking role rather than on the wing, where he is at his most dangerous.
While the Portuguese star has previously admitted he admires both Manchester United and Arsenal, Tottenham are currently viewed as the club most likely to secure his signature.

A move to north London could offer Leao the perfect opportunity to rediscover his best form. Roberto De Zerbi's tactical approach places great emphasis on pace, direct running and exploiting space in transition—qualities that have defined Leao throughout his career.
The Portuguese attacker joined Milan from Lille in 2019 in a deal worth €49.5 million, having previously begun his senior career at Sporting before moving to France.
Leao's focus, however, remains firmly on the World Cup and the Round of 16 clash awaiting Portugal against Spain.
