Wilson, 19, was ruled out of the game due to a groin injury, which the club said was undergoing rehabilitation.
In a brief note on the former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder, AIK noted on Thursday, 2 July: “[Stanley Wilson] Is in rehabilitation for a groin injury. Conducts rehabilitation in a gym.”
The match was his first absence in the Swedish top-tier this season, following what has been a breakthrough campaign for the youngster.
Wilson, who was rewarded with a new three-year deal in June, was ,however, not involved the two club friendlies against Kalmar and Vasteras SK, where AIK delivered mixed results, losing 2-0, and winning 3-2, respectively.
Without Wilson on the field, AIK won its first game since 24 May, rallying from behind to move up to 10th on the standings.
Hosts Goteborg caused a scare for AIK when they scored through Sebastian Clemmensen at the half-hour mark, before the visitors responded almost instantly via Johan Hove in the 34th minute.
It would take till the 76th minute for a winner to arrive, when Ivory Coast midfielder Axel Kouame struck, to give AIK a valuable comeback victory, that took their season tally to 15 points from 10 matches.
