All United fans and players are saying is "Give Carrick a chance"

Even though the former midfielder keeps raising the bar and making exceptional results, the Red Devils' board is still in a dilemma whether they should name him a long-term manager
Once bitten, twice shy.
That's the principle Manchester United's board is currently following. And it's understandable and justified.
They believed in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but they made a mistake. They put their trust in Erik ten Hag's experience and made a poor decision. They had faith in Ruben Amorim's talent and previous results, and made a wrong choice.
Therefore, it's reasonable for them to have a dilemma about Michael Carrick's status: whether to name him a long-term head coach or stick with him until the end of the season and then find another option, like Andoni Iraola, Oliver Glasner, Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, etc.
However, as always, there's another perspective that supports the claim that the current interim manager must stay on the bench at all costs.
Yesterday, United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford 3-2, booked a ticket for the next edition of the Champions League, and almost secured third spot in the Premier League. After a two-year absence, the Red Devils will return to the UCL, and after finishing 8th and 15th in the last two seasons, they'll return to the top of the EPL, where they belong.
And the credit goes to Carrick.
The players are the same ones with whom Amorim began the campaign, yet the Portuguese left the club in sixth place, with shaky odds of making a comeback to the European elite and out of both domestic cups. It's the 44-year-old Englishman who turned the tables.
Since he took over the Old Trafford giants’ bench, they won 10 games, drew twice, and lost as many times, beating all five remaining "Big Six" clubs in the process! Five of Carrick's ten victories came against Manchester City (2-0), Arsenal (3-2), Tottenham (2-0), Chelsea (1-0), and Liverpool (3-2).
The last United manager to have beaten all these elite English teams in a single season was Jose Mourinho eight years ago, and before him, Sir Alex Ferguson. Carrick has done it in 106 days!

And if all of this is not a good enough reason to have faith in the current caretaker, just listen to what Matheus Cunha said after the win against the Reds.
"We're learning so much, of course. When Michael [Carrick] came, he came with magic! [Sir] Alex Ferguson vibes."
"He talks so much about his team, the conquering team. This feeling comes to us. We feel so happy with the information, we focus so hard to reach the objective."
🚨🗣️ Matheus Cunha: "When Michael Carrick arrived, he brought MAGIC."

"At the end of the day, this is just the start of the journey, it's the beginning - a beautiful beginning!" the Brazilian stated via Daily Mail.
Fantastic results are there, the players trust him and love working with him, and with a couple of reinforcements, Man United could be a title contender after many years. Unless Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co. decide to shoot themselves and the club in the foot.
The conclusion doesn't need any big words. Just repeating what Cunha said.
"This is just the start of the journey, it's the beginning - a beautiful beginning!"
Not the end. The beginning.
