The team has scored seven goals in the 13 rounds played so far in the 2025-2026 FKF Premier League season

Bidco United FC head coach Anthony Akhulia has confirmed plans to sign a striker with sharp goal-scoring instincts during the January transfer window, citing the team’s inability to convert chances as a key factor behind their recent poor run.

After a promising start to the season- that included wins over Gor Mahia, Nairobi United, and Ulinzi Stars- Bidco United have now gone eight matches without a win.

During this period, they have lost four games and drawn four others.

Coach Akhulia says urgent changes are needed, with the priority being the acquisition of a reliable striker to address the team’s finishing struggles.

We need to find a reliable goal scorer. Take the game against Mathare United as an example. We created numerous chances, some easier to score than to miss, yet we failed to convert any and ended up drawing. Small details like this can put the team in a risky position. When the mid-season window opens, we plan to bring in a player who can finish chances. We are doing well in creating opportunities; now we need to make them count,” Akhulia explained.

The coach also stressed that the team cannot afford to continue their winless run, warning that another poor run could see them embroiled in a relegation battle similar to last season, when survival was only secured on the final day.

“We have to wake up and start winning games. We cannot continue with the current run because we are dropping down the table, and we do not want to find ourselves fighting relegation as we did last season,” he said.

Despite the recent setbacks, Akhulia noted signs of improvement in the 0-0 draw against Mathare United on Friday, particularly in the team’s urgency and determination.

There is some improvement. For example, our performance against Posta Rangers was very poor and unacceptable because we barely caused them any problems. But against Mathare, I saw urgency and hunger, which is positive. We now need to convert our chances into goals, and then we will be in a strong position,” he added.

Bidco United will return to action on Wednesday, facing bottom-placed Kariobangi Sharks in what promises to be a crucial clash for both sides.
