Ambani received the award at the sidelines of Leopards training on Thursday, 9 April at the Marist International University, Karen.

This is the second time that Ambani is lifting the monthly gong, having been named the December 2025 Coach of the month, and is only the second coach to achieve that feat this season, following in the footsteps of Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor who won the October 2025 and January editions.

To win the award, Ambani beat stiff competition from Akonnor, Tusker head coach Julien Mette, and Police FC tactician Nicholas Muyoti.

The former Zoo FC tactician led Ingwe to four wins in five matches in March, the best record of any of the 18 top flight tacticians.

The 1998 champions secured a 5-1 victory over Shabana on the first day of March, handing The Glamour Boys not only their heaviest defeat of the season, but also ending their unbeaten away record this season.

Leopards would then suffer a shocking 4-1 defeat to Mathare United, a match in which they were also outclassed on all fronts, much to the disappointment of their fans who expressed their frustrations to the team, calling for radical changes.

Ingwe bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Nairobi United, courtesy of a Samuel Ssenyonjo strike, a score-line they replicated against Tusker with Hassan Beja scoring the only goal of the match.

An audacious strike by Tyson Otieno against his former club Kariobangi Sharks was all that Leopards needed to down the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup champions and end the month on a high.

For his troubles, Ambani received a personalized trophy as well as a cash prize of Ksh75,000.

Speaking during the ceremony, Ambani attributed the team's performance to the backing by management.

"These players are well taken care of: the salaries, allowances, everything is coming on time, and when you have everything you need being sorted, then you have absolutely no excuse for not performing.

I have equally been with the squad for quite some time now, and I understand their strengths and weaknesses, which has been a very big plus to us this season," he said.
