The handover will be presided over by President William Ruto, who will be on an official working tour of the Gusii region from Sunday, 12 to Wednesday, 15 April.

The bus, whose images have since gone viral on social media, is a major upgrade to the current team bus, which, coincidentally, was gifted to the side by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The double-axle bus made by Isuzu is a luxurious one featuring high-end finishing that ensures adequate leg room for comfortable travels in long journeys, and is expected to add pomp, color and prestige to The Glamour Boys.

The bus handover date was confirmed by National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro.

Apart from the bus, President Ruto is also expected to launch the upgrading of Gusii Stadium to the tune of Ksh900 million.

Gusii Stadium will therefore join the growing list of stadia under construction in the country and is expected to be at the level of Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui, Kwale Stadium, and Migori Stadium.

Just like the rest of the stadia, construction works are expected to be done by the Kenya Defense Forces under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Sports.

During construction, Shabana will be forced to find a new home for their matches, at least for the rest of the year, a matter that the club has requested the intervention of the head of state.

“We made a special request for structured support and facilitation of the team during the construction period of Gusii Stadium.

This includes ensuring access to suitable alternative training and match venues, logistical support and the necessary resources to allow the team to continue competing effectively without disruption," reads part of a statement by Shabana after meeting Osoro.

With the club scheduled to play Kuta Collection FC in the Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 16 at the Wang’uru Stadium on Sunday, they have made a formal request to FKF to have the match played on Saturday, 11 April, to allow them to grace the bus handover event.
