But away from his crisp passes and confident runs in midfield, Morrison has a lighter, more laid-back side that few have seen.
Mozzart Sport takes a look at the ten intriguing and fun facts about the K’Ogalo star.
1. Football was always the dream
If Morrison were not playing football, he would probably be a businessman. He, however, admitted that he has never done anything outside the sport.
“I’ve never had any work aside from football,” he said.
2. Nyayo Stadium is his happy place
For Morrison, no stadium in Kenya matches the energy of Nyayo. It is safe to say that the atmosphere and fans there bring out the best in him.
“The atmosphere in Nyayo is something else. Anytime I step on that field, I feel confident,” he offered.
3. His favourite Kenyan meal is simple
Forget exotic dishes. Morrison’s favourite Kenyan meal is a classic rice with beef.
It is a fitting choice for a Ghanaian, too. In West Africa, rice is the staple food eaten almost daily, whether as jollof rice, fried rice, or waakye (rice and beans). Beef is just as popular, often cooked in flavorful stews or grilled as suya.
4. Cooking? Not his thing
When it comes to the kitchen, Morrison admitted that he is not the chef type.
“No, I don’t cook,” he confessed.
5. His pre-match anthem: Shatta Wale’s ‘On God’
Before every big game, Morrison gets into the zone by blasting On God by Ghanaian music icon Shatta Wale.
The song’s message of resilience and self-belief clearly hits home.
“It’s always on repeat,” he said.
6. Dinner with a legend? Mesut Özil, please
Morrison’s football idol is none other than Mesut Özil. The former Germany international played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Fenerbahçe.
“He is my all-time favourite and role model,” Morrison disclosed.
7. Post-match ritual
After the adrenaline rush of a tough match, Morrison recharges quietly.
“I put my phone on Do Not Disturb and watch a movie,” he said.
8. Humble to the core
One surprising thing about Morrison? On the pitch, he lets his feet do all the talking.
“I do not like praising myself,” he revealed.
9. His roommate is a man of faith
During away games, Morrison shares a room with teammate Geoffrey Ochieng. Sounds like a solid partnership both on and off the field.
“He is very prayerful, and I feel free talking to him about everything,” Morrison disclosed.
10. His style is simple, clean, and confident
Off the pitch, Morrison keeps things effortless.
“I’m not too much into fashion, but when I step out, I step out in style, simple and clean,” he said.
With that, it is safe to say that the talented midfielder has settled seamlessly into life in Nairobi.
