Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas is set to feature in the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
This news comes just a day after Thomas served as the Grand Marshal of the 2024 New York City Marathon.
SI also recently signed two-time Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee for the 2025 swimsuit issue.
Previously, other popular personalities such as Olivia Dunne, Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird, and Ilona Maher posed for the 2024 edition.
According to reports, Thomas is currently shooting for SI's May 2025 issue in Boca Raton, Florida, with photographer Ben Horton leading the project.
With this new venture, Thomas will have an opportunity to pursue her interests beyond the track and showcase her incredible physique.
In a statement, SI's editor-in-chief, MJ Day, shared the magazine’s goal to curate an "extraordinary" roster of athletes for the upcoming edition. After Thomas joined the lineup, Day said (via SI):
"We are thrilled to launch our shoot season for the 2025 issue with an extraordinary lineup of powerful female athletes."
Thomas has emerged as one of the world's most popular track stars, especially after her 2024 Olympic campaign.
She became only the fifth female athlete to win three gold medals in the Games.
The 27-year-old recently discussed the importance of balancing on-track and off-track activities, just days after the 2024 Olympics concluded in August.
In an interview with "Well and Good," Thomas said that balance is a key factor in maintaining a healthy body. She also highlighted her goal of developing "holistically" early in her career.
"I think it's really healthy to have a balance. When I signed with New Balance initially, that's just what I was doing. I was working hard on the track and growing, but I was focused on growing holistically as a whole person.”
Thomas also emphasized the importance of sleep after training, saying:
"Sleep is number one. I get at least nine hours of sleep every night, and I don't play about it."
In addition to her rigorous track training, Gabby Thomas engages in various activities, including social work at the Texas Health Center.
