
Team Kenya to Paris 2024 Olympics announced

The select group of athletes who are yet to hit automatic standard times will have to do so by June 30
The Kenyan team to the 2024 Paris Olympics was officially unveiled on Saturday, 15 June after stars clashed at the Nyayo National Stadium.
From the trials, it was evident that the team is lethal, and ready to take on the global stage with a stage.
The trials ended in a colorful ceremony which saw the audience entertained by a band from Kenya Prisons, and other local artists, setting the mood for an electrifying Olympic stage.

Athletics Kenya (AK) President also posed in front of an Eiffel Tower statue to symbolise Kenya's readiness to take on every athlete's dream stage.
The trials also highlighted emerging talent, with budding athletes sealing spots for the competition which is slated for July 26 to August 11 at the Stade de France.
Men's 100m
In the men's 100m, Ferdinand Omanyala, a standout from the region, leads the charge. The women's team is still working to meet the qualifying standards before the June 30 deadline.
Men's 400m
For the men’s 400m, Zablon Ekwam will represent Kenya, facing strong international competition. Wiseman Were has also qualified for the 400m hurdles.
Women's 800m
World 800m champion Mary Moraa has been named as Kenya’s sole representative in the women’s 400m, while Lilian Odira joins the 800m team. Sarah Moraa is still aiming to qualify.
Men's 800m
In the men’s 800m, Emmanuel Wanyonyi will lead a team that includes Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal and Koitatoi Kidali.
Women's 1500m
The women’s 1500m team features Susan Ejore, world record holder Faith Kipyegon, and Nelly Chepchirchir.
Men's 1500m
Reynold Cheruiyot and Timothy Cheruiyot will compete in the men’s 1500m, with Kyumbe Munguti needing to qualify before the deadline.
Women's 3000m steeplechase
The women's 3000m steeplechase team includes Faith Cherotich, world record holder Beatrice Chepkoech, and Jackline Chepkoech.
Men's 3000m steeplechase
The men's 3000m steeplechase team comprises Simon Koech, Amos Serem, and Abraham Kibiwott.
Women's 5,000m
Kipyegon will also compete in the women’s 5000m, joined by Beatrice Chebet, with Margaret Chelimo needing to qualify.
Men's 5,000m
The men’s 5000m team includes Ronald Kwemoi, Jacob Krop, and Edwin Kurgat.
Women's 10,000m
The women’s 10,000m team features Chebet, Chelimo, and Lilian Kasait.
Men's 10,000
The men’s 10,000m team includes Daniel Mateiko, Nicholas Kimeli, and Bernard Kibet.
Marathon
The marathon team remains unchanged, with defending champions Peres Jepchirchir and Eliud Kipchoge leading the field. Kipchoge will be joined by Benson Kipruto, Alexander Mutiso, and Timothy Kiplagat as a reserve. Jepchirchir will be joined by Hellen Obiri, Brigid Kosgei, and Sharon Lokedi as a reserve.
