Kenyan athletes learn schedule for 2026 Wanda Diamond League

The 2027 season will maintain a similar rhythm, starting slightly earlier on April 30 in Doha

The Wanda Diamond League has unveiled its calendar for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Next year's campaign will get underway on Friday, 8 May in Doha, before making its way through a series of major athletics cities including Shanghai, Rome, London, and Zurich.

Following the Doha meet, the league will head to Shanghai on Saturday, 16 May, Xiamen on Saturday, 23 May, and Rabat on Sunday, 31 May.

The European leg of the circuit will then take over with stops in Rome on Thursday, 4 June, Stockholm on Sunday, 7 June, Oslo on Thursday, 11 June, and Paris on Friday, 26 June.

The action will then move to Eugene on Saturday, 4 July, Monaco on Friday, 10 July, and London on Saturday, 18 July.

The final stretch of the series will feature events in Lausanne on Friday, 21 August, Silesia on Sunday, 23 August, Zurich on Thursday, 27 August, before culminating in Brussels on Friday, 4 to Saturday, 5 September, where the 2026 Diamond League champions will be crowned.

The announcement comes shortly after the 2025 Diamond League season came to a dramatic close in Zurich on Thursday, 28 August, where Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles delivered a dominant performance to claim his unprecedented sixth series title in the men’s 200m.

Women’s 100m champion Julien Alfred, men’s pole vault world record holder Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi were among the standout winners at the event.

The first day of the final was held on the streets of Zurich at Sechseläutenplatz, where fans witnessed thrilling contests in the men’s and women’s pole vault, women’s high jump, men’s long jump, and both men’s and women’s shot put.

The action then shifted to the Letzigrund Stadium on Thursday, where 26 more champions were crowned in front of a vibrant crowd.

Each event winner not only earned the prestigious title of 2025 Diamond League Champion but also secured a wild card qualification for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Among the notable winners were Femke Bol of the Netherlands, who dominated the women’s 400m hurdles, Norway’s Karsten Warholm in the men’s 400m hurdles, Faith Cherotich of Kenya in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, and Germany’s Frederik Ruppert in the men’s steeplechase.

Other champions included Salwa Eid Naser in the women’s 400m, Valarie Allman in the women’s discus, and Niels Laros of the Netherlands in the men’s 1500m, cementing their places among the sport’s elite.

The 2027 season will maintain a similar rhythm, starting slightly earlier on April 30 in Doha, followed by meetings in Shanghai, Xiamen, Rabat, Eugene, Rome, Oslo, Stockholm, Paris, Monaco, London, Silesia, Lausanne, Brussels, and concluding in Zurich on August 26–27.
