
Chemususu Half receives Mozzart Bet’s Ksh4 Million sponsorship boost

Now in its tenth edition, the Chemususu Dam Half Marathon has increased its prize money for winners to Ksh300,000 thanks to a massive sponsorship boost by leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet.

The firm has extended its sponsorship deal for the fourth year in a row, boosting the Saturday, 15 November race to the tune of Ksh 4 million.
The race’s main objective is raising awareness of critical environmental challenges while funding impactful projects, which include building a running track and new classrooms at Chemususu Primary School and planting 20,000 trees annually.

Since its inception back in 2014, the Mozzart Bet Chemususu Dam Half Marathon has grown into a significant annual event with a purpose far beyond the finish line.
This year’s event will feature four races, including the main 21km half-marathon, a 10km race for elite athletes, a corporate race, and a veterans’ category for participants over 50.
Race Director Matthew Birir confirmed that this year’s top winners will receive Ksh300,000 in prize money, up from Ksh250,00 last year, with runners-up awarded Ksh150,000, and third-place finishers receiving Ksh100,000.
The top ten athletes will be awarded, with the last place receiving Ksh10,000.

In last year’s edition, Wisley Kipkemoi and Gladys Koech were crowned the champions, the former winning in 63:82, edging out second-placed Emmanuel Bett (63:86) as James Kipkurui completed the podium in 63:87.
In the women's race, Koech won the title after clocking 77:00, beating Joyline Cherotich (79:21) and Caroline Chepkemoi at 84:26.
