The Bankers came from behind and scored 45 points against a hapless Quins

Reigning Kenya Cup champions KCB RFC successfully managed to weather an early storm by Kenya Harlequin as they came from behind to record an emphatic 10-45 win over their fellow eight time champions in a thrilling matchday 8 encounter staged at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

Barely ten minutes into the clash, Quins had raced into an early ten nil lead, but after sustained pressure throughout the entire match, the Curtis Olago coached side showcased why they are the team to beat as they ran in seven tries that earned them a bonus point to go with their victory.

Ivan Chebo had opened the scoring for Quins just two minutes in as he caught a napping KCB defense off guard with his pace that he used to good effect in crossing over the whiteline, Eden Agero successfully converting to put them 7-0 up.

The Amady Diallo coached side then kept on asking questions with their fast start to the game and Agero added a further three points after drilling a penalty that had been awarded to Quins following a KCB infringement.

That strike would prove to be the start of Quins' problems as KCB started unraveling their puzzle piece by piece.

Curtis Lilako was the first to get the wheel rolling as he bulldozed his way over the try line with Darwin Mukidza successfully converting to reduce the deficit to 10-7.

Peter Kilonzo then made a clever run on the outside channel as he evaded all his markers before dotting down for a first time lead for KCB as Mukidza added the extras to give the Bankers a 10-14 half time advantage.

Just at the start of the second half, KCB went straight into another gear as Max Kangeri gained over 20 valuable metres before setting up Isaac Njoroge who landed a third try for KCB that was not converted.

The scoreline started falling apart just minutes after that third try as KCB attacked at pace with Samuel Asati flying over the whiteline for the fourth bonus point try that was converted to get the game to 10-26.

From a scrum to the Bankers, Waitere picked up the ball and attack thr blind side where he offloaded to Michael Wanjala who landed a try with Mukidza adding the extras.

Looking to take the scores to half a century, Wanjala and Njoroge landed late tries to grab their braces in the game but it fell just short as the game concluded at 10-45.
