In a game of small margins in the first half, it is Strathmore Leos who managed to go into the break with a slim 10-3 lead after Clinton Khasai scored the half's solitary try that was successfully converted by Arnold Muita to put the varsity side 7-0 up early on.
The Deejayz who had found the Leos defense a hard nut to crack managed to get themselves on the board through a different route as Joseph Amalemba drilled in a penalty that momentarily reduced the deficit.
However, the students managed to restore their seven point lead at the break as Muita converted a penalty awarded to Leos for the 10-3 half time score.

In the second half, Homeboyz very much upped the ante as they chased the game and they successfully managed to draw the game level after Collins Shikoli's centre post try was easily converted.
It was shortlived though as Muita once again struck a penalty that restored Leos' lead at 13-10.
The students would further create a ten point buffer between them and te opponents as Kenya U20 international Walter Omanyo cleverly intercepted a lose Homeboyz pass before dotting down beneath the posts to give Muita an easy time with the conversion attempt.
Perfect from the boot, Muita knocked in another penalty to give Leos a 23-10 lead and with under five minutes left before the full time whistle, the two sides traded successfully converted tries before Homeboyz managed to sneak a losing bonus point as they scored at the death to bring the full time score to 30-24.
