Quins in pool of death as Dala 7s draws are announced

Circuit leaders Kenya Harlequin have been handed a harsh draw ahead of the Dala 7s
The 2024 Ingo 7s champions and Christie 7s runner's up, Kenya Harlequin have landed a tough pool ahead of the third leg of the 2024 National Sevens Circuit; Dala 7s slated for Saturday 17 to Sunday 18 August at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium.
The Paul Murunga-coached side are placed in Pool A together with Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos and Mwamba RFC.
Pool B has Ingo 7s finalists KCB Rugby who will lock horns with Nondies RFC, Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, and Homeboyz RFC.
In Pool C, Ingo 7s hosts and third-place winners Kabras RFC will lock horns with crosstown neighbours Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby, Dala 7s hosts Kisumu RFC, and fast rising Kabete Stallions.
Nakuru RFC are the only non-students in Pool D. They will face off against Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) Monks, Daystar Falcons, and Zetech University Oaks who won the Division II category of the Kakamega Ingo 7s.
Meanwhile, in Division II, Ingo 7s runner-up Kabarak University top Pool A and are joined by KCA University, Western Bulls and Tororo RFC.
Pool B will be a close affair as Sigalagala National Polytechnic, Northern Suburbs, Bungoma RFC and Mount Kenya University (MKU), Thika face off.
Pool C has Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) Marines, Administration Police (AP) Warriors, Vihiga Granites and Nandi Bears.
In Pool D Embu RFC, Homabay Rugby, Mbale RFC and Siaya will face off while the final Pool has Shamberere TTI, NYS Spades, Mean Machine and Kifaru RFC.
The standby teams are Makueni RFC, Kisumu Polytechnic and Molo RFC.
The circuit is making a comeback after a one-week hiatus to pave the way for the teams to rest and recharge.
It kicked off with the Christie 7s hosted by Kenya Harlequin in Nairobi before Kabras RFC electrified the scene with Kakamega Ingo 7s.
