The chairman has emphasized the club’s commitment to not only winning titles but also cultivating a culture of integrity and respect while inspiring the next generation of players.

Victor Sudi will continue as Chairman of Kenya Harlequin after being re-elected during the club’s Annual General Meeting held on August 10, 2024, at the Quins’ clubhouse, RFUEA, Nairobi.

Several new members earned slots on the Executive Committee as the term that began in August 2022 came to an end.

Dennis Begisen was re-elected as Grounds Director, and Joel Ng’ang’a will continue as Director of Rugby. Terrence Adembesa has been elected as Vice Chairman, Nekesa Were as Honorary Secretary and Peris Mukoko as Honorary Treasurer.

The outgoing members are Felix Ochieng, Rosemary Korir, and Onespol Gachanja.

The election was overseen by senior club members, including Joe Onsando, Jesse Onsando, and James Mwenda.

In an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, Sudi noted that, together with the executive committee, they will be keen to improve the club’s performance.

During his past tenure, Sudi sealed several deals for the Quins, including partnerships with Chloride Exide, Fortius Clinic, Rohto Mentholatum, and an extension of their partnership with Minet.

His achievements also include starting a ladies’ team and implementing a transition scheme that helped the Quins narrowly escape relegation to compete at the highest level.

They missed out on the 2023/24 Kenya Cup semifinals after a loss to Nondies.

“I am grateful for the confidence in my leadership. When I first took on this role, my commitment was to build on our rich legacy while navigating the challenges of modern rugby,” he stated.

He added, “Over the past few years, we have faced many challenges, but together, we have risen above them. From the victories on the pitch to the strides we’ve made in growing our youth programs and enhancing our club’s infrastructure, our club has always been a beacon of excellence. We will continue to strive for the highest standards both on and off the field.”

The chairman emphasized the club’s commitment to not only winning titles but also cultivating a culture of integrity and respect while inspiring the next generation of players.

“I will work tirelessly to ensure that this club remains at the forefront of rugby in Kenya,” he promised.

Currently, the team leads the 2024 National 7s Circuit with 39 points, having started the circuit in second position after losing to Kabras RFC before winning the Kakamega Ingo 7s.
