Prinsloo 7s: KCB lose third place playoffs to blow title race wide open

Menengai Oilers are bound to pip KCB in the National Sevens Circuit log.

Reigning National Sevens Circuit champions KCB RFC suffered losses in Day 2 after losing the Third Place Playoffs following a 21-10 defeat to Homeboyz RFC to blow the title race wide open.

KCB RFC who were having an off color weekend having suffered a shock defeat to Nondescripts on Saturday and followed that up with another loss to Menengai Oilers and ended their Day 2 with another 21-10 defeat to Homeboyz RFC.

The defeat blows open the title race with Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers who will contest the finals set to earn more points than the Bankers.

Kabras Sugar RFC finished 5th in the Prinsloo 7s after beating Kenya Harlequin 14-0 to hand themselves some reprieve following an exit in the quarters to an impressive Menengai Oilers who went all the way to the finals.

Nondescripts clinched the Challenge Cup after whitewashing Catholic Monks 21-0 to end their Prinsloo 7s with a trophy after posting inconsistent results in Day 1 that saw them lose to Kenya Harlequin, register a draw against fellow Ngong Road side Impala RFC and stunning KCB RFC in their Pool final match.

In the 13th place final, Blak Blad compounded Nakuru RFC's woes in their own tournament as they beat them 21-10 to clinch the trophy and extended Wanyore's horror tourney.
