KCB, Oilers, Leos, Mwamba and Homeboyz all got wins in their group openers.
All the top five teams that are still in contention for the overall 2022 National Sevens Circuit - KCB, Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos, Mwamba ad Homeboyz - got the perfect start in the opening round of group matches played at the Prinsloo 7s tournament currently ongoing at the Nakuru Athletic Club.
Being the penultimate stage of the six legged campaign, all the five teams picked up wins in their respective matches to keep their title ambitions perfectly intact.

Kabras Sugar got the tournament underway with a 19-10 victory over Catholic Monks in Pool A before Dala 7s champions Homeboyz, who are in fifth place on the log on 60 points, condemned Western Bulls to a 24-0 defeat.
In pool B, second placed Menengai Oilers, who are the only side in the top five not to win a leg in the four outings so far played, showed their intent in the tournament as they picked a 40-0 win over Kisumu.
Overall defending champions KCB, who currently top the log table on 75 points, picked a 24-14 victory over Kenya Harlequin.
Strathmore Leos held on for a narrow 12-10 victory over a spirited Blak Blad as Mwamba closed the round one matches with a 26-7 victory over Vihiga Granites who were promoted to Division 1 after winning the Division 2 tournament in Kisumu.
