He tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) while in action against Homeboyz RFC
Nondies tight head prop Charles Ndirangu underwent successful surgery on Wednesday, 7 February.
Ndirangu tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in a tough match against Homeboyz RFC on match week five when they won the match 32-0.
In the match, Ndirangu featured for the second team in the Eric Shirley Shield as the tight head prop.
Breaking the news on their social media handles, the club is pleased that Ndirangu has begun the process of recovery and subsequently regaining full fitness.
“Charles Ndirangu had a successful surgery this morning after tearing up his ACL when we faced off with Homeboyz RFC. We wish you a quick recovery Ranger. All the best,” the club announced.
The Rangers will be in the hunt for another win following their narrow 21-20 victory against Strathmore Leos in Kenya Cup week seven action.
They have amassed 14 points this season and have a game in hand. They are sixth on the log following three wins and three losses.
They earned the top-flight status after winning the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship last season and are on course to qualify for the Kenya Cup playoffs.
They will be keen to amass maximum points when they travel to Nakuru for their week eight fixture against the Menengai Oilers.
They will however tread carefully as the Oilers will head to the match like injured lions.
They will be looking to avenge their 33-16 loss at the hands of Kenya Harlequins.
The Gibson Weru-coached side will also be enjoying home advantage, in addition to their third-place position on the log.
