The two sides will replace the relegated Mean Machine and Masinde Muliro in next season’s Kenya Cup.
Record league champions Nondescripts RFC and Kisumu RFC will once again be playing in the top flight Kenya Cup after the two teams successfully made it to the finals of the second tier Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship to automatically earn their promotion to the top league.
17 time Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts defeated South Coast Pirates 39-10 at the Ngong Road Racecourse while Kisumu registered a win on the road after defeating hosts Daystar Falcons 19-7 at the Strathmore Sports Ground in Madaraka, Nairobi in matches played on Saturday afternoon.

Having been relegated last season alongside Impala Saracens, Nondies managed to give themselves a chance of regaining immediate promotion back to the Kenya Cup after finishing top in the Championship ahead of Daystar Falcons, Kisumu and South Coast Pirates who were the other three teams to book their tickets to the semifinals.
On the day that mattered most, tries from Collins Odiwuor, Brian Amaitsa, Steve Odhiambo (brace), Fidens Tony, Charles Omondi and Victor Rogena got the job done as Nondies confirmed their return after only one season out.
In the other semifinal, Daystar Falcons’ fairytale run was brought to a crushing halt as Kisumu picked the all-important victory.
Daystar, who finished their impressive season in second place, were seeking to make the jump to the top flight on the very first time of asking as this was their debut season in the Chamionship.

It was however not to be as Kisumu, who had stayed in the second tier for two seasons, finally ended their wait.
The two sides, who will replace the relegated Mean Machine and Masinde Muliro in next season’s Kenya Cup will contest for the KRU Championship title next Saturday at the Ngong Road Racecourse.
