KCB will be taking on Nondies in the Floodies final on Saturday.
After punching a ticket to their first Impala Floodlit Tournament final in exactly a decade, Nondescripts head coach Callum Oliver admitted that he has his work cut out ahead of the final.
Nondies will face former Kenya Cup champions KCB in the final that is slated for Saturday 12 November at 7:30 PM at the Impala Grounds.
KCB booked a place in the final after overcoming a resilient Blak Blad in the semi finals and earlier beat Kenya Harlequin 14-10 in the quarters.
Nondies, who have been the most impressive side in the tournament thus far, overcame fellow Championship side Impala Saracens and Menengai Oilers in the last four.
Oliver noted that there are a number of issues that he needs to address before the final and admitted that they face a losing battle if the mistakes are not corrected.
“We made a lot of errors in the game, we turned the ball over a lot and if you do that next week we will lose. We have time to work on our errors, we will stick to our structures, we have to play territory and apply pressure to our kicks and hopefully the team will come good,” said Oliver.
Nondies last lifted the title back in 2012 when they overcame Mean Machine in the final and will be looking to put behind a disastrous Kenya Cup campaign last season.
Asked whether his side can eliminate the needless kicks in their game which gifted Oilers possession in the semis, Oliver had this to say.
“We can do that with a bit of training. We have a young team with a lot of players still learning the game, understanding when to play and when to kick - this will come with time,” added Oliver.
