KCB became the record tournament champions following the win.

Despite losing 20-3 to KCB RFC in the Impala Floodlit Tournament final, Nondescripts head coach Callum Oliver was full of praise for the tourney champions.

The Bankers became the record Floodies champions after the victory, surpassing Mean Machine’s eight titles after bagging their ninth trophy of the tournament.

Nondies however showed a fight in the game as they kept KCB at arm's length for huge spells of the encounter but the Bankers showed their might late on.

Oliver admitted that they were disappointed after losing the final but went on to reserve high praise for KCB who limited them to no tries in the game.

“We are obviously disappointed because for 65-70 minutes we were in the game and we missed three penalties that would have got us back into the game.

They (KCB) are proper title contenders, they are a fantastic team, well coached, big men but we can be very proud of our performance but we have a lot of work to do,” said Oliver.

Nondies will now turn their attention to the Championship after suffering relegation from the Kenya Cup last season following a torrid campaign.

Oliver however revealed that he has a fledgling side at his disposal which will come of age with time and challenge the big boys.

“We are a very young side, the average age of our back line was 23 so we have a lot of growth coming on our side,” added Oliver.
