The 1983 Kenya Cup champions ran in six tries to collect an extra bonus point for their win

A rejuvenated Mwamba RFC managed to record back to back wins for the first time this season as they condemned Top Fry Nakuru to yet another defeat following an emphatic 41-8 performance in a Saturday Kenya Cup encounter played at the RFUEA Grounds.

Seemingly invigorated by their first win of the season in matchday 5 against Blak Blad, Kulabu played like a side full of confidence and a team that sought to gather even more steam right from the onset and they managed to do just that after dominantly running in six tries that ensured they earned a bonus point victory to go with their impressive display.

On the other hand, 2013 and 2014 champions Nakuru were left barreling down at the possible threat of relegation as the defeat left them without a win in their opening six games since the season started as they currently sit in the second last position.

In the match, Mwamba started as they meant to go and led by 22-3 by the half time break before they convincingly got the job done at full time.

Just a minute into the game, the 1983 Kenya Cup winners had their first chance to record some points on the board when a Top Fry infringement earned them a penalty.

However, that early opportunity would amount to nothing as Charles Kuka misjudged the straight foward looking conversion as his attempt veered to the left of the upright.

Following that missed chance and against the run of play, it is Nakuru who managed to opened the scoring as Fredrick Odongo, from a penalty, showed Mwamba how it should be done as he gave his side an early 0-3 lead after a successful conversion attempt.

Mwamba would then be reduced to fourteeen men but so would Nakuru just minutes later but it is Kulabu who managed to galvanize themselves as they recorded three tries to race to a 22-3 lead at the break. The fast paced Brian Kivasia landing a first half brace with Ronnie Omondi getting the third one over the line.

Nakuru tried to offer some retaliation in the second half as they got their first try of the game that came courtesy of Hannington Wabwire but Mwamba were quick to put off that fire as the legendary Collins Injera, Tony Owuor and Martin Oyugi rolled in three tries to seal the dominant display at 41-8.
