The Bankers beat Nondies in a thrilling final.

Impala Floodlit Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) Davis Chenge was delighted after KCB RFC clinched the title but revealed that there are some areas that need to be addressed ahead of the new season.

The Bankers proved too strong for Nondescripts in the final as they claimed a 20-3 win to lift the Floodies trophy for the fourth consecutive time as they also became the record tournament champions.

Chenge admitted that the win was not a walk in the park as Nondies made them sweat and also waxed lyrical on the record Kenya Cup champions.

“We are happy for the win, we had to dig very deep for that win but the competition of the game is growing and teams are playing well.

I’d say kudos to Nondies for giving us a run for our money but we are definitely excited to get the win,” said the KCB forward.

Curtis Olago’s side will now shift their attention to the Kenya Cup that kicks off on Saturday 26 November as they look to recapture the title they lost last season to Kabras RFC.

Chenge however admitted that there are some loose ends that need tightening before they embark on the Kenya Cup season where they face Kenya Harlequin in the opener.

“We are ready for the new season, we just need to polish up a few areas, we are making a lot of mistakes on our green zone and that is costing us,” added Chenge.
