Kenya Morans continued their dazzling form at the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens, storming to a commanding 33-0 victory over Ghana in their second Pool A clash played on Saturday 21 June at the Labourdonnais Sports Club, Mauritius.

Building on their earlier 34-0 triumph over Ivory Coast, the Morans were quick off the blocks once again.

Just two minutes in, George Ooro bulldozed through the Ghanaian defense to score the opening try, converted with composure by the rising star Jackson Siketi.

The scoreboard ticked again two minutes later when William Mwanji crossed the line, and Siketi, unfazed by the tight angle, slotted home the conversion to make it 14-0.

Kenya’s attacking flair was on full display as the red-hot Floyd Wabwire scorched down the left flank after a well-executed scrum, grabbing his fourth try of the tournament. Another successful conversion pushed the score to 21-0.

There was nearly a fourth try just before halftime when Lameck Ambetsa charged down the right wing, but a handling error at the last moment let Ghana off the hook.

Nevertheless, the Morans went into the break with a commanding 21-0 lead.

Ooro returned after the interval to bag his second try, though the conversion attempt drifted wide. Moments later, skipper Cristant Ojwang added his name to the scoresheet, with Philip Okeyo stepping up to nail the conversion and extend Kenya’s lead to 33-0.

Ghana did find some rhythm midway through the second half, piecing together a threatening passage near Kenya’s 22. But the Morans’ defense held strong, extinguishing any hopes of a comeback.

As the final whistle blew, just after Javan Omondi made a darting run Kenya sealed a second consecutive clean sheet, having scored 71 points and conceded none across two matches.

They now shift focus to their much-anticipated final Pool A fixture against neighbors Uganda, scheduled for 3:18 PM EAT.
