Ivory Coast kicked off the game, but Kenya quickly took control. A high tackle on Chrissant Ojwang gave the Morans a penalty, and Jackson Siketi’s tactical kick gained crucial territory.

Capitalizing on the momentum, Kenya moved the ball fluidly across the field before Floyd Wabwire powered over for the first try. Siketi added the extras for a 7-0 lead.

A handling error by Ivory Coast at the ruck gifted Kenya possession once again, and Morans did not hesitate.

Another quick sequence of passes saw Wabwire notch his second try of the match, although the conversion went wide.

Ivory Coast struggled to find rhythm, and when they briefly gained possession, Kenya’s defensive pressure forced a turnover.

Morans struck again, this time through Dennis Abukuse, who broke free and touched down under the posts before converting his own try to make it 19-0 at halftime.

The second half saw debutant Matoka Matoka add his name to the scoresheet with a fine try, though the conversion attempt was off the mark.

Morans wrapped up their emphatic performance with a well-earned final try. A crunching tackle in the dying moments opened up space for Felix Okoth, who finished off the move in style.

The successful conversion brought the final score to 34-0.

Kenya will be aiming to maintain their strong momentum when they return to the field to face Ghana at 12:12 p.m. before clashing with archrivals Uganda at 3:18 p.m. in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
