The loss was Oilers' first of the season

Kenya Harlequin's half back Cornelius Mokoro was the man of the match as Quins ended Menengai Oilers' six-match winning streak in the Kenya Cup week seven match played on Saturday, 3 February at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.

The high-spirited Quins saw off Oilers 33-16.

The Quins were coming from a 9-3 loss in the hands of Kenyatta University's Blak Blad. They were looking to bounce back.

Mokoro put Quins on the scoresheet first through a penalty thanks to an infringement from their opponents.

Following that, the Oilers responded with a penalty through Dennis Abukuse to see the scores at 3-3.

The penalty served as a morale-booster for the Oilers who would then score another five-pointer courtesy of Kenya 7s star John Okoth. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

Following that, the Quins managed another penalty but Mokoro failed to score this time.

A few minutes later, it was Richard Wangila dancing through the Oilers' defense to score the first try for the hosts. This time Mokoro's conversion attempt was successful.

Oilers then responded with a penalty to keep tabs with their opponents.

Mokoro was at it again, adding two more penalties that ensured the Quins take the lead. By now, the entire Oilers' technical bench was standing, trying to give instructions to the boys on the pitch.

The loud whispers seemed to work wonders on the Oilers who now enjoyed a series of passes, before the ball landed on Beldad Ogeta's hands. The speedster raced clear to score a clean try.

Mokoro was doing the necessary job in his department, this time managing drilling in another penalty for the Quins.

The hosts kept their fine form going, scoring the final try of the match which was converted by Mokoro before the sound of the final whistle.
