Kenya will close the day with an African derby against South Africa at 6:08 PM (EAT).

The men’s national rugby 7s team, Shujaa woes were exacerbated after 26-0 humbling at the hands of Argentina in the London leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The loss leaves Kenya needing nothing short of a miracle if they are to qualify for the Main Cup quarters after their second successive defeat in London following the 17-14 loss to Ireland.

Just like in their previous encounters, restarts have been Shujaa’s Achilles heel and it came back to haunt them as Argentina got possession from an error straight from kick-off.

After recycling possession, Argentina finally drew first blood through Joaquin de la Vega who squeezed in at the corner to land the first try with Tobias Wade adding the extras.

Kenya had Anthony Omondi to thank for not losing grip of the tie early on as he made a try-saving tackle by slapping the ball off Tobias Wade when he was about to touch down.

Argentina went into the halftime break with a 12-0 lead after German Schulz slalomed through the Shujaa defense to grab a try right at the depth.

The South Americans who are the current leaders of the series continued from where they left from in the first half as they grabbed their third try of the game through Luciano Gonzalez after an overload on the right flank.

Shujaa again struggled from the restart with Argentina gathering and recycling possession as Matías Osadczuk showed a clean pair of heels to put the Pumas in a commanding 26-0 lead after Wade added the extras.
