Amaitsa is preparing to showcase a different side of his talent, which has since sparked excitement among fans who know him best for his kicking precision on the rugby field.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport during the Kabeberi 7s, Amaitsa explained that music has always been part of his life.

The talent has always been there since high school, but I never really wanted to show it because my focus was on chasing the national colors. I started singing back in 2017 during class prep, and now I am working on an album,” he shared.

According to Amaitsa, the album will carry a powerful message inspired by his personal experiences and passion for community.

The theme revolves around the culture of brotherhood, uplifting and enlightening each other about life and all its diversities. Since we began this journey a while ago, a few songs may not align perfectly with the theme, but the core message remains: rehabilitation through sports and music,” he said.

The youngster, however, kept fans guessing as he chose not to reveal the name of the album or its exact release date.

Amaitsa is not the first rugby player to explore music.

Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams once released a rap single, while his compatriot John Kirwan tried his hand at Italian pop.

South African hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle has produced gospel music, and Welsh referee Nigel Owens recorded a charity single in his native language.

During the Kabeberi 7s, Leos finished fourth after losing to Kabras RFC in the third-place playoff.

They started their campaign with a 25-7 victory over Mwamba RFC before seeing off Impala RFC 31-0 and ending their pool matches with a 27-14 victory over Kenya Harlequin.

3/3 wins saw them reach the quarterfinals, where they whitewashed Mombasa Sports Club RFC 38-0 to reach the semifinals.

It was at this stage that they bowed out, narrowly losing 12-10 to Daystar Falcons to relegate them to third place, where they lost 24-12 to Kabras RFC.
