They are set to face Australia and Spain in their group matches.

Kenya’s national rugby sevens team, Shujaa, will compete in Pool B of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series at the Cape Town 7s, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, in Cape Town, South Africa. They are set to face Australia and Spain in their group matches.

This leg of the series introduces a revamped format, featuring four pools of three teams each, replacing the previous three-pool system.

Dubai 7s champions Fiji headline Pool A alongside Great Britain and Uruguay. Pool B features Spain, fresh from an impressive performance in Dubai, alongside Australia and Kenya, who will renew their rivalry after meeting last weekend.

Series leaders Argentina top Pool C, where they will face hosts South Africa and Ireland. Pool D promises fierce competition, with New Zealand, France, and the USA battling for top honors.

The World Sevens Series began with an electrifying opening leg in Dubai, where Fiji clinched the title with a commanding 19-5 victory over Spain in the final. Fiji now tops the standings with 20 points, while Spain’s strong showing earned them 18 points and a second-place finish.

Argentina took third place, securing 16 points, with New Zealand finishing fourth with 14 points. France completed the top five with 12 points. Defending champions South Africa stumbled, failing to reach the semifinals and settling for seventh place with 10 points.

Australia and Great Britain claimed the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, with eight and six points each. Uruguay edged Kenya 15-7 in the ninth-place playoff to take ninth, while Shujaa earned a 10th-place finish with two wins and three losses, picking up three points in the standings.

Ireland collected two points, while the USA sits at the bottom with one point as the series moves to Cape Town for its next chapter.
